Acadia Healthcare Cook I in Fordyce, Arkansas


  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Prefer a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time on serving line.

  • Must be able to read and/or follow menu and recipes.

  • Must be able to assist with sanitation and other needs of the department.

  • Prefer minimum of one year experience in food preparation.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without reasonable accommodation):

Walking; reaching; bending; pushing; pulling; lifting heavy loads (i.e., at least 50 pounds).


  • Assist in food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for all residents/patients.

  • Serve proper portions and diet modifications for all residents/patients.

  • Ensure staff receiving special meals/snacks for residents/patients is informed of special orders.

  • Supervise resident/patient workers and assist with the dietary training.

  • Receive food and supply deliveries and check delivery ticket against actual products for proper identification.

  • Stock food and supplies in their proper places ensuring that labels are facing forward in order to rotate stock (first in/first out).

  • Ensure all stock is dated upon receiving.

  • Ensure that cooler/freezer and steam table temperatures are recorded accordingly.

  • ICF/MR must serve family style dinning.

  • Provide care and/or conduct patient/resident interactions in an age/cultural appropriate manner.

  • Follows all safety policies and adheres to all workers’ compensation program guidelines.
